The British summer is not well known for its reliability. So, when a nice day comes along, people in Britain like to fill that day with as much meaningful fun as they possibly can. If you’re holidaying at Barmouth Bay Caravan Park in West Wales this summer, then why not venture off the park one day and enjoy some of the cultural splendour in and around Barmouth? There’s plenty going on in 2014 to please the whole family.

Every year a great list of guest stars are invited to fill the local air with toe-tapping country and western fun for everyone. Do be sure to bring your own folding chair, since there is usually very limited fixed seating provided.

If you’d like to hear notes of a more local variety, then stop by for Copperfest 2014 from August 22nd to 24th. Two features in particular make this music festival special compared to other UK festivals. First, it’s absolutely free to enter, and second, it’s family-friendly. Where it matches other festivals is both in great music and great fun! Come along and enjoy the mix of Welsh- and English-language music offered up by local artists and those from further afield.

Perhaps music is not what you’re after at all, and it’s your palate you’d like to be putting through its paces. If this is the case, then you should stop by the Menai Seafood Festival from August 29th to 31st in Menai Bridge. The event celebrates the abundance of seafood in Northern Wales, as well as other local fresh produce, live music and arts. View a cooking demonstration or simply stop by to purchase the finest wares the region has to offer.

How fitting it is then that another festival on offer in the summer of 2014 is the Barmouth Walking Festival, which runs from 13th to the 22nd of September. There are walks to suit all ages and fitness levels, all starting in the early morning from the Dragon Theatre in the centre of Barmouth. This year, many new advanced-level walks have been introduced, including one from Barmouth to Llanbedr, another from Barmouth to Dolgellau and many more. There are also classic easier walks, such as the Barmouth Historical Trail.

Don’t spend your summer lounging on the sofa or sitting out on your patio. Come on over to Barmouth Bay, enjoy our facilities and revel in the cultural splendour of the surrounding region. Barmouth is waiting to welcome you!
