Top Autumn and Winter Events Around Barmouth Bay16th September 2015
Many of us may well be lamenting the end of the summer holidays, and already dreading the cooler autumn and winter months. Well, there’s absolutely no need! Did you know that Barmouth continues to be a great destination for a break even later in the year? Let’s take a look at some of the events taking place in autumn and winter around Barmouth Bay:
Barnardo’s 20-mile Sponsored Walk (Sat. October 3rd)
If you’re a keen hiker and want to get involved in a walk that manages to raise thousands of pounds for the Barnardo’s charity, then this is something for you to come to Barmouth for. If you’re interested in taking part, you need to contact Lark and Peter Davies on 01341 280971 to register your interest.
This event was mentioned in one of our earlier posts. Come down to Barmouth’s sands, and from the Promenade you’ll be able to watch the majesty of motocross bikes, quad bikes and more racing. It’s a popular local event every year, and you really couldn’t ask for better surroundings.
Barmouth Fireworks (Date TBC)
The exact Saturday hasn’t been confirmed for Barmouth’s annual Bonfire Night and fireworks display, but it is typically held on the Saturday closest to November 5th, on the beach at the Bath House. Make your stay with us a little bit traditional by attending this classic national favourite.
This will be held on the first Thursday in December, and is another local favourite. Local businesses will be open later to allow you to sample local delights in the added ambience of a beautiful Snowdonia evening. If it’s a Christmas atmosphere you’re looking for, the local Fairbourne Miniature Railways also has “Santa Specials” running in December. If you’re with the kids, they’ll surely love an atmospheric train ride and a great gift from Santa himself!
Don’t let the darkening nights deter you from taking a break away. Take a look at our website to find the latest and best holiday deals at Barmouth Bay, and book your autumn break with us today.
