Bistro Bermo – Church Street, Barmouth
This restaurant in Barmouth has been described by one enthusiastic Trip Advisor reviewer as the “best place to eat in Barmouth…and beyond.” This charming bistro has the customers coming back for more every time they’re in Barmouth. With a mouth-watering selection of delicious contemporary food, great wines and an unbeatable atmosphere, this restaurant is a must for anyone wishing to taste some of the best food the local area has to offer.
Y Meirionnydd – Dolgellau
Heading over to nearby Dolgellau, you will come across this fantastic little “gem” as many reviewers have described it – Y Meirionnydd. This Georgian townhouse hotel has a long history going back around 150 years, and the building even used to serve as the county jail! It’s a lot more welcoming these days, however, offering a good range of local and contemporary cuisine. It’s worth checking out their website for more information, as some of the dishes available and opening times depend on thr season.
Myrddin’s Bar Caffi – Barmouth
Proud operators of this interesting location in Barmouth, Dorian and Janet, are on hand to welcome you to their quite unique bar and eatery – Myrddin’s. Proud to be the first and only Real Ale House of Barmouth, Myrddin’s offers 17 types of cask conditioned ales and cider in bottles, as well as an extensive menu serving traditional food. Sounds magic to us!
The Bay – Llanaber
This popular restaurant is part of the Hendre Coas Isaf Holiday Park in Llanaber, just a mile or so north of Barmouth. If you want to experience home-cooked food made with locally sourced ingredients, and all while enjoying some of the finest sunset views over Cardigan Bay, then this is the place for you. We recommend checking their website before booking, as opening times vary from day to day.
Edwards of Conwy – Conwy
Alright, this one isn’t a restaurant per se, but then again when you’re in Snowdonia and you want to enjoy some lunch, you might prefer to eat outside surrounded by all the glory of one of Britain’s most popular and stunning national parks. If you are planning a bit of a picnic, then Edwards is the place to stock up on delicious items to put in your basket. This award winning butcher’s shop offers meats, pies, ready meals and much more. It has also just been crowned “Britain’s Best Butcher.”
