Big Autumn Weekends at Whitecliff Bay9th November 2015
It’s officially autumn, and the fun just doesn’t stop on the Isle of Wight. There are some really great activities coming up in November on our island, and as usual there are great accommodation deals to be had here at Whitecliff Bay. Why not make us your base, and explore the seasonal delights of the area? You’re sure never to be bored or disappointed! Here is a small selection of what’s on:
Rag Mama Rag & Red Sqwrl – November 7th, 7:30pm at Quay Arts, Newport
Country and Blues fans be aware! One of Britain’s top Country/Blues acts is coming to the Isle of Wight for one night only as part of their wider UK tour. The English duo is based in France, and has been on non-stop tour of Europe for the past 10 years! Their original compositions filled with full and hard rhythmic sounds get feet tapping and are sure to have you hooked. Don’t miss out on this!
Sandown Carnival and Fireworks – November 7th, 18:00 at the Sandown Pier
This traditional celebration is one of the biggest and best-loved on the island, and always attracts a fantastic crowd. The November carnival and lantern parade, beach show, fireworks and more promises to be a wonderful Saturday experience for the whole family. There will be a stunning parade with brightly lit floats, and spectators are encouraged to come in fun Halloween costumes to take part in the “SPOOKY” parade! It’s a little after Halloween, but let’s keep the party going!
The Poppy Train on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway – November 8th, 10:00-17:00
This will be a special day of trains commemorating the end of World War One, hosted by the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Rides will include a typical island train from the era, and there will also be a short service of reflection to remember islanders who gave their lives in service of King and country.
The Cowes Christmas Fair – November 14th/15th, 10:30am to 4:30pm at Cowes Yacht Haven (Vectis Yard, High Street)
It’s not quite Christmas yet, but let’s face it – there is never really a time too early to start on all that gift shopping. The Cowes Christmas Fair will contain more than 60 stalls offering an amazing array of quality, unique gifts. There will also be entertainment and refreshments available. You never know, you might get most or even all your shopping done in one trip – wouldn’t that be nice!
Whether you’re coming for the week, the weekend, or just a couple of days during the week, you’ll find spending autumn days on the Isle of Wight will prove a pleasant and enjoyable experience. We’re truly blessed here at Whitecliff Bay, so take a look through our autumn breaks and reserve your next stay with us now.
