Local events in North Wales and beyond

The local area of Barmouth and North Wales is always bustling with brilliant events both local and within reasonable driving distance.

And with Snowdonia, Porthmadog and Bangor not far away, Barmouth Bay is the perfect base for the big events and festivals happening in the surrounding area this year.

Aberystwyth Cycling Festival

18th May – 27th May 

A celebration of cycling in mid Wales, including town centre criterium racing, downhill mountain biking and a mass participation rice. Spectators are welcome to watch all the on & off road action and may even be lucky enough to spot some of Britain’s top cyclists.

Zip World Rocks

15th June 2019

An epic evening of music, food and fun at Zip World Rocks! This year’s line-up includes Miles Hunt of the Wonder Stuff, Mike Peters of the Alarm, Bryn Fôn, Elin Fflur and many more! It’ll definitely be a Father’s Day to remember.

Corwen Food Festival

22nd June

The Corwen Food Festival promises to be a family-fun day out with hundreds of stalls, including produce from local, National and International food and drink manufacturers. There will also be a dedicated craft marquee and plenty of street food stalls.

Snowdon International Race

20th July

Part of the World Mountain Championships, Snowdon International is a tough 10 mile race involving running from the edge of Lake Padarn in the village of Llanberis to the highest summit in Wales and England and back down! This race really isn’t for the faint-hearted!

14th – 23rd September

For ten days in September over 150 people gather in Barmouth to participate in an extensive programme of walks, led by knowledgeable, local guides and ranging from short half day rambles to full day, high level hikes intended for experienced walkers. With over 35 routes to choose from, this is great opportunity to get to know beautiful Barmouth Bay.

Snowdonia 24

21st – 22nd September

Snowdonia’s brand new 24 hour individual and team challenge. Complete as many laps as you can of a stunning 10km trail as you can!
