About 26 minutes from park
Home to a colourful collection of sharks, clownfish and eels, as well as otters, eels, rays and much, much more, the aquarium’s exotic residents can teach their visitors more about the importance of the aquatic world. The aquarium partners with local charities to play its part with marine conservation, using its inhabitants to inspire the next generation to care about our environment. Learn about the planet’s rainforests and the local Solent seas, find out the importance of protecting endangered species, breeding programmes and reducing plastic pollution, and meet everything from inquisitive iguanas to astonishing amphibians; all this and more on your exciting day out at Blue Reef Aquarium Portsmouth.
Blue Reef is on the Southsea waterfront at the southern tip of Portsea Island, just off Clarence Esplanade. There aren’t any specific Blue Reef Aquarium Portsmouth parking spaces available, but there’s plenty of pay and display parking close to the entrance. Disabled visitors are advised to contact the aquarium beforehand for information on accessibility and parking. The aquarium isn’t far from the end of the M275, which is connected to the M27 and A27, as well as the A3(M) which heads north to London. There are trains to Portsmouth Harbour from the capital’s Waterloo station which take just over an hour and a half. Blue Reef is a mile and a half from the station, taking around half an hour to stroll along the pretty seafront.
Whilst you wait... just think about being in your swimmers, the sun's out and the smiles are big
