blackgang-chineWhen you’re planning your family holiday, it’s vital that you consider what your kids are going to be doing each day. Fortunately, when you book your stay with us at Whitecliff Bay this year, you not only get access to our on-park facilities and My Active programs, there is also a huge variety of fantastic places to go, and activities to take part in off the park that are perfect for the whole family.

Vectis Ventures runs two brilliant amusement parks on the Isle of Wight — Blackgang Chine in Ventnor and Robin Hill Adventure Park in Newport. Blackgang Chine is a large park combining many theme worlds, such as Cowboy Town, Fairy Land and many others. Its Waterforce water slide, Cliff-edge rollercoaster and Pirate Barrel offer all the thrills and spills you’d need to make great family members that last a lifetime.

robin-hill-adventureIf that doesn’t sound right up your alley, then you could try Robin Hill Adventure Park. Take aim and try your hand at the state-of-the-art laser clay pigeon shooting game, or see real birds in action by watching the falconry show. Those looking for a more high tech show can try the 4D motion cinema, and those wanting more outdoors fun can take a ride in the Big Green Tractor Train. Both parks are closed during the winter, but reopen on March 21.

Theme parks aren’t for everyone though, and if your kids are into wildlife, then you might want to pay a visit to West Wight Alpacas. This attraction is ranked very highly on Trip Advisor, and gives families the chance to take cute alpacas on treks around the farm or further out into the beautiful Isle of Wight Countryside. When you consider that 70% of the island is an official Area of Outstanding Beauty, which makes for some pretty special hikes. You can also pick up great gifts for the kids at their shop!

Treks with cuddly alpacas and theme parks are all great fun, but for some families it’s not enough. For a bigger family adventure, you can try Isle of Wight Adventure Holidays, which offers paddleboarding, kayaking, archery and other fun activities to satisfy the need for real thrills and spills — the kids will love it! They have specialized equipment and instructors to help with younger children, with kids as young as five being able to take part.

So, bring your family to Whitecliff Bay this year, and enjoy the family-friendly fun activities available all over the island. Don’t delay, book with us now.
