Things to do around Whitecliff Bay31st October 2014
It’s not quite Christmas yet, but there’s a distinct lull in November that can actually be quite tiring. It’s not really the time to take any kind of long holiday, but it could be the perfect time for you to think about having a short break on the beautiful Isle of Wight. There’s plenty going on this winter, and all is within easy striking distance of our beautiful accommodations at Whitecliff Bay.
In November, we’re offering 7 nights in one of our Superior Chalets (sleeps up to 6) starting from November 8th for just £167. From November 14th, we’re also offering 3 nights in one of Luxury Lodges (sleeps up to 8) for the amazing price of just £249. Book your stay with us now and enjoy some of the great happenings on the island this November and early December.
First of all, lovers of history and heritage won’t want to miss the Victorian Christmas event at Osborne House in East Cowes on December 6th and 7th. Once the holiday residence of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, the event will take you back to a traditional Victorian Christmas celebration, with engaging games, carousel rides, falconry and even the chance for kids to meet Father Christmas and Queen Victoria themselves! Children can also make their own Christmas toys in what we hope also is both an interesting and fun experience. If you’ve ever wondered what Christmas may have been like in another time, this is the perfect chance.
You may want to focus more on preparing for Christmas in 2014! If that’s the case, then you should check out the Cowes Christmas Fair, being held on November 15th at Cowes Yacht Haven. There you’ll find a myriad of unique, high-quality gifts and handicrafts suitable for gifts for all ages. You’re sure to at least be able to complete a good chunk of your gift shopping by having a nice long browse of what’s on offer. What’s more, there’s free parking and free entry as well!
Shopping and Christmas fairs may even be the furthest thing from your mind when you’re looking to spend some time getting away from it all on the Isle of Wight. In that case, why not find out more about the amazing range of live music, quiz nights and special theme nights that are being put on in the many pubs, restaurants and other establishments on the island. Have a look through this comprehensive Gig Guide to see what’s on. Coming up very soon there is the Jazz Jam Session at The Black Sheep in Ryde (starting at 8pm), as well as a Firework Night and Family Disco at the IW Community Club in Cowes on November 8th. There’s certainly something for everyone.
Join us on the Isle of Wight this winter and see that no matter what time of year you travel here, there’s always things to do, things to see, things to experience and things to marvel at.
