Woodhall Spa ’40s Festival
Saturday 18th – Sunday 19th July
This free community-run festival takes place throughout the village, welcoming thousands of visitors who want to step back in time to experience a taste of wartime Britain. Now in its fourth year the 2015 event will mark 70 years since Victory in Europe. Visitors can expect to experience a unique and immersive event that celebrates the best of the British Homefront. The village shops, restaurants and hotels all get involved, with staff dressed in period costume. Events and entertainment include singers and dancers, vintage vehicle displays, re-enactors and a fly-past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
Lincoln Steampunk Festival
Saturday 29th August – Monday 31st August
Lincoln Castle plays host to the largest steampunk festival in the World as it returns to Lincoln Castle for a weekend of imagination, creativity and fun, where the Victorian past meets a future that never was. Thousands of splendidly dressed participants will enjoy shows, demonstrations, talks and silliness. The “Maker Zone” offers talks and presentations by skilled artists and makers whilst the “Knowledge Zone” covers history and science. Parades, music, games, displays and a selection of steampunk stalls for all to enjoy. So why not dress up and join in the fun?
Friday 18th – Sunday 20th September
Alchemy is a family friendly music and entertainment festival set in a wildlife reserve in Lincolnshire. The event is designed to provide a weekend of fun and entertainment in an environment that is similar to the old style of festival. Loads to do on site, ranging from workshops for all ages, walkabout entertainers, fire pits, fire shows, circus performers, and lots more, all either free or reasonably priced.
Lincolnshire Sausage Festival
Saturday 24 October
Lincoln Castle is the setting for the ever-popular Lincolnshire Sausage Festival, one of the most popular events in the county calendar. Visitors will be entertained by The Europa Clowns, Matto and Polo, and there will be street music and entertainment from the Cosmic Sausages along with Mr Sausage who will be making appearances throughout the day. There will also be a children’s cookery demonstration area in the Redhill Farm’s Marquee.
