Are You Attending The Lincolnshire Show in 2016?

8th March 2016 Published by

The Lincolnshire Show is a two-day celebration of Lincolnshire’s agriculture that showcases the best in local entertainment, music, food and drink. Spanning more than 270 acres, the event is one of the biggest and best farming festivals in the country. With livestock exhibitions, sheep dog performances, beautiful floral displays and a food court rammed full with over 600 shopping stands, there is literally something for everyone.

Weird and Wonderful Sports

At the Lincolnshire show you’ll have the opportunity to catch some of the most weird and wonderful sports of the British Isles, including motocross show-jumping and horseback gymnastics. The Countryside Ring area also hosts a much-loved Sheep Show, which has been a stable part of the festival since its inception.

World Class Horticulture

The Flower Show and Floral Art display will be organised by the local garden centres and professional landscape designers. The area will provide the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the main events, allowing you to relax among the beautiful green backdrop and fragrant plants in peace and quiet.

Fantastic Horse Shows

If you want to see the horses in all their magnificent glory, you must attend on Wednesday 22nd. With the Parade of Hounds, Show Jumping Competition, Heavy Horse Turnout Show and the Scurry Driving Association, the main ring will be packed to the rafters with horse lovers expressing their admiration for these majestic animals.

Luxurious Food and Drink

Of course, no farmer’s market would be complete without luxury homemade – and quintessentially British – cuisine. Whether you’d like a prize pork sausage from Lincolnshire’s most skilled butcher or some glutinous treats from the local bakery, there will be enough catering options to satisfy even the fussiest of eaters! One of the most popular hotspots is the Lincolnshire Beekeepers’ Association tent, which has a vast array of delicious local honeys to sample.

Entertainment for the Kids

There’s no need to worry about the children. With bumper boats, trampolines, a vintage carousel and a bouncy castle inside the “Kid Zone” there is plenty for them to enjoy. For more educational past-times, the children will also have an opportunity to take part in baking tutorials from some of the most celebrated local talent. Attending schools can also take part in the “Schools Challenge” for the chance to win some awesome prizes.

Tickets and Prices

This year the Lincolnshire Show will take place on 22nd and 23rd June. The festivities begin at 8am and conclude at 6pm each day, providing a full 10 hours of activities. Weekend adult tickets are just £19, while child tickets are just £6 (under 5’s enter for free). Family discounts are available for groups of four and above.

The Lincolnshire Show truly is one of the county’s most exciting events. Each year the festivities grow bigger and better, making it one of the best loved festivals in the East Midlands. If you want to meet other like-minded individuals who share a love for the great British outdoors, there really is no better place.
