About Bodmin and Wenford Railway

Cornwall’s only full-size railway still operated by steam locomotives. The line was originally closed in October 1983 and reopened just 3 years later, as a passenger train attraction by the newly formed Bodmin Railway Preservation Society. Running on the line from Bodmin and Wenford, passengers can experience a service of steam locomotives, high tea in the dining carriage and all round family fun.

Prices vary against their in and out of season timetables. So checking the website for details is essential.

How to get to Bodmin and Wenford Railway

The station is ½-mile from the town centre, on the B3268 towards Lostwithiel, and well signposted from the town centre and all the main roads leading into the town. Once on the outskirts of Bodmin, follow the brown tourist signs to the “Steam Railway”. If using SatNav, please use the postcode PL31 1AG.

The Railway has its own car park at Bodmin General, directly adjacent to the station, which is FREE to rail users. There are other (Pay & Display) car parks nearby. Please allow at least 20 minutes to park, purchase tickets and find your seats on the train – longer if using one of the Pay & Display car parks. All trains reverse at Bodmin General. Bodmin General is the only  station that has car parking facilities for passengers.
