How do I book activities?

Activities can be booked in advance during peak times on our online system (Sandy Balls, Tattershall Lakes and Whitecliff Bay only).

Please be aware, whilst our facilities are open at reduced capacity due to government restrictions, bookable sessions will subsequently operate on a limited capacity to comply with social distancing measures and therefore, availability is not guaranteed.

I have booked privately and want to book activities, how do I do this?

If you have booked privately at Tattershall Lakes, Beachcomber, Sandy Balls or Whitecliff Bay, you can book activities online below. Please use your pitch number and road name as the booking reference.

I've booked privately, how can I access the app?

The Away Resorts app is for exclusive use of Away Resorts guests only.

What time can I check in?

If you’re staying in our Exclusive grades your check-in time will be 2:30pm. Please see our grade comparisons page for all Classic grades check in times. These check-in times are subject to change.

Can I have family/friends visit me for the day when I am staying on park?

Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to allow this to ensure we do not exceed our maximum capacity, as advised by the government.

What is your out of hours phone number?

Our out of hours security number is 07970 929 093.

Can we use cash in the shop?

We are requesting that all payments on park at this current time are contactless.

Tell me about the accommodation layout at Whitecliff Bay

The beautiful Whitecliff Bay is set across two areas, separated by the road. Wherever you’re pitched, we’re sure that it’ll be the best seaside holiday you’ve ever had! Requests for specific locations can be noted, but are not guaranteed.

How much is it to bring dogs?

We’re able to offer pet friendly units to guests wishing to bring their dogs, and charge from £35 per short break (5 nights and under) and £55 per long break (6 nights or more), per dog. 

Up to a maximum of two dogs are allowed per accommodation unit or per caravan and camping pitch. You can find out more about our dog friendly holidays by clicking the link.

Do you have children's menus in the restaurant?

Can I hire a high chair?

Yes you can hire a highchair for  £12 during your online booking.

Can I hire a travel cot and does it come with bedding?

Yes you can hire a travel cot for £15 and add it to your booking online. These are standard travel cots that do not require a mattress and are therefore not provided. Cot linen is not provided as most parents prefer to bring their own.

Can I fit a travel cot in my accommodation?

This will depend on the accommodation but caravans can usually only fit travel cots in the lounge area. Lodges can fit travel cots in the double bedroom but can be very tight though they can be placed in the twin bedroom but a bed will have to be removed. Please call 0330 053 7000 to find out more about fitting a travel cot in your accommodation type and arranging them to be fitted.

Where can I find out about Ferry times and crossing?


Ferries to the island are run by two companies; Wightlink and Red Funnel – all you need to know can be found directly on their website.
Once you’ve booked a holiday with us our holiday heroes can book your ferry for you AND an option to book a ferry online is also available during your booking process. 

Getting to us couldn’t be simpler and if you are pulling a caravan or trailer with a boat or jetski on it the roads are wide and there are no narrow lanes to navigate.


The most frequently asked question we get is “Do we need our passports to get on the ferry?” so we thought we would save you all some time and tell you that in fact, you do not need your passport! This is because the Isle of Wight is actually part of the UK.


Dogs are allowed on both Wight Link and Red Funnel ferries free of charge unless you are travelling on a Hi-speed service where a small charge applies unless they are a guide dog. Please note also that you do not need to book dogs on to the ferry however they do need to be kept on a lead at all times when on board; so please ensure they have had some exercise and been to the toilet before boarding.


Please make sure you are at the port terminal no later than 30 minutes prior to ferry departure, however an hour before is best. This is to ensure you have sufficient time to collect your tickets and get in the queue to board.


Both Wight Link and Red Funnel have a lift to ensure disabled passengers can have a comfortable journey on the ferry.


You are able to have a car or motorhome up to 5.5 metres including 6 people. Or you can bring on board a car and towed vehicle up to 14 metres, or a motorhome up to 9 metres, plus 6 people.

Do you have park WiFi?

We have WiFi hotspots at Tattershall Lakes, Whitecliff Bay, Mersea Island and Barmouth Bay.

WiFi is limited at Sandy Balls and Mill Rythe where WiFi is only available in the complex (or Village Square at Sandy Balls.)

There is a free WiFi option which offers unlimited data but limited speed which you can connect as many devices as you want to it. Due to the limited speed, this is better used for casual internet browsing, Facebook and Twitter and checking emails. It is not recommended for HD video streaming, video games and downloading of large files.

We also offer a Premium WiFi option (excluding Sandy Balls & Mill Rythe) which boasts higher speeds. The options are:

To connect to the park WiFi, simply log into the Guest Network and following the on-screen prompts to register your device. If any troubles with connecting please check with the park’s reception who will be more than happy to assist.

What entertainment is on during my holiday?

We’re excited to announce that Sandy Balls, Tattershall Lakes & Whitecliff Bay is still be able to offer activities and entertainment – with a few added precautions of course.

Instead of live performances, The Woodside Suite will be hosting live shows streamed from another location, kids entertainment and music. Not to mention our Outdoor Cinema showing will be running two showings a week too!

Our team have also been trained in hosting activities in a way where we can remain covid-safe and still have plenty of fun – with favourites returning such as target archery, crazy carts and more!

How much do guest passes cost?

Guests Passes are included in the cost of your holiday when booking directly with us. This provides access to the selected park facilities, entertainment*, experiences and more. We charge for certain activities as we want you to have the very best experience and by paying a little, we can enhance activities a lot!
For those who book with third parties, guest passes can be purchased at the park’s reception. Prices are dependent on duration and time of year. If you choose to let through our subletting scheme, then prices will be reduced.

* Entertainment is not available at Barmouth Bay and is limited at Mersea Island.

How do I book?

There are two ways to book a holiday. You can either book online via our website or alternatively you can call us on 0330 053 7000.

Can I come and stay any night?

Any day arrivals are NOW available ALL YEAR! Yes, that’s peak dates too. Arrive when you want and leave when you want. All we ask is that you stay for a minimum of 2 nights, but apart from that, you can stay as long or as short as you like.

What's included in my break?

Along with your accommodation, Guest Passes are all included in the break’s price and provides everyone in your party full use of our on-park facilities and evening entertainment (where available)! Certain activities and services may also carry additional charges. Please note, at this time we cannot guarantee access to all facilities even with passes due to social distancing and safety assurances.

Can you get to Whitecliff Bay by public transport?

The closest train station is Brading which is about 3 miles from the train station. From there you can find local taxi numbers to take you to the park.

If you’re arriving by bus, you can walk about 12 mins from Ryde Pier Head Rail Station to Ryde Bus Station. From Ryde Bus Station (East-Bound) take Southern Vectis Bus 8 and that will bring you straight to the park.

From Brading, adjacent to Rowborough Cottages take Southern Vectis Bus 8 towards Sandown, Melville Street and get off at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park. The park is just a 30 second stroll away.
