  • Leading staycation operator upgrading accommodation and facilities at key parks as part of significant renovation plans ahead of 2022 season
  • Luxury accommodation, more sports and swimming facilities and a brand-new fish and chip shop, just some of the plans ready to be enjoyed
  • Plans come after two recent acquisitions, expanding Away Resorts’ portfolio to 27 parks

Guests will be able to enjoy bigger and better staycations this year thanks to an £18million investment plan. The independent holiday park operator has spent a record sum extending and upgrading facilities at several of its best-loved parks, as well as new ones recently added to its expanding portfolio.

Exciting enhancements to accommodation are underway, and guests will also be able to enjoy new food and beverage options, improved swimming pools, adventure areas and sports zones at locations including the much-loved Sandy Balls in the New Forest, Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire and St Ives Bay on the Cornish coast. Outdoor splash zones, a new high ropes course and a farm-style shop are some of the other attractions visitors will love.

The operator – which now owns 27 parks in some of the UK’s most popular holidays spots – is confident that guests new and existing will enjoy exploring their new-look locations.

The multi-million-pound investment plan comes on the back of a significant 12 months for Away Resorts. The staycation specialist welcomed a record number of guests to its parks during a bumper 2021 and oversaw two major acquisitions of Coppergreen Leisure Resorts and Aria Resorts.

Away Resorts, CEO, Carl Castledine, said: “2021 was a significant year for the staycation market as visitors threw themselves into exploring the beauty of Great Britain.  We experienced such high demand as a result, and we’re building on that success to make record investments this year to ensure our 2022 experience is the best it can be.

“Our guests are our number one priority, so we are ploughing funds into creating brilliant accommodation, including hot tubs and accessible homes. We’ve also added more bar and restaurant options and really thought about our wider on park activities and experiences.  We’re always listening to our customers and their feedback fuels our plans, so we can’t wait to hear what guests think about our new look 2022 parks.
