The new multi sensory immersive attraction allows guests to summon ‘Tricks or Treats’ to their very own cauldron hot tub at the push of a button
06 October 2025
London, UK, 6th Oct 2025: UK holiday park provider Away Resorts has opened the UK’s first ‘haunted cauldron’ hot tub experience as part of its popular 31 Days of Halloween celebrations.
The new attraction being trialled at Sandy Balls Holiday Village in the New Forest allows guests to bathe in a giant witches’ cauldron featuring ‘Trick’ and ‘Treat’ buttons which, when pressed, activate exclusive immersive experiences. Pushing ‘Trick’ will prompt ghoulish immersive theatre from the Away Resorts’ ‘Boo Crew’ while hitting ‘treat’ will result in delectable Halloween treats and themed cocktails being served by your very own spooky butler.
The haunted hot tub can be enjoyed by guests booking Away Resorts’ ‘cabin-in-the-woods-esque’ Knightwood accommodation at Sandy Balls, which itself comes kitted out with a spooky Halloween makeover to get guests into the seasonal spirit as soon as the door is creaked open.
The experience is just one of many highlights across Away Resorts parks, as part of its 31 Days of Halloween which offers spooky decorations, seasonal arts and crafts and a host of not-so-spooky entertainment for the whole family to enjoy. Activities guests can enjoy include:
Samantha Storey, Experience Delivery Manager at Away Resorts commented: “With the New Forest’s historic connection to the occult, Sandy Balls was a natural fit to trial this witchy new attraction. Our 31 Days of Halloween activities are increasingly popular with our guests, with participation rising 18% year-on-year, more than double the growth of other events. That makes the launch of our haunted cauldron hot tub the ideal way to build on this momentum and introduce something hauntingly delightful for our guests to enjoy.”
Away Resorts also conducted consumer research which found that 63% of Brits believe that Halloween is more popular than ever. In fact, over half (55%) prefer it to Guy Fawkes night.
But Halloween isn’t the only thing scaring Brits, with the top five frighteners being:
The findings also revealed that over half (56%) of Brits plan to put out a pumpkin to welcome trick or treaters, while the top traditional Halloween activities people will be embracing are: watching scary movies (29%), decorating their home (28%), being visited by trick or treaters (28%) and pumpkin carving (25%).
