Away Resorts is expanding its national portfolio - with the acquisition of Rhyl’s Golden Sands Holiday Park. The independent company has just taken over the popular destination after enjoying a bumper year across their stable of UK resorts.

Golden Sands will become the 10th park in the prestigious group and will benefit from the company’s experienced approach to marketing, development, and management. The general manager, wider team, and Away Resorts say they are excited to see what comes next for the North Wales Park.

Established in 1933 and now providing a mix of caravan pitches, chalets and lodges all in a traditional seaside setting, Golden Sands continues to be a hit with families looking for places to staycation. With its direct beach access, entertainment complex, show bar and hot tub lodges, the resort offers affordable luxury on the Welsh coast.

Last year, Away Resorts welcomed thousands of holidaymakers - up 19% on the year before - to their 9 UK parks, seeing huge demand following the popularity of the ‘Great Staycation.’

Speaking about the move, Away Resorts’ CEO, Carl Castledine said: “We are delighted to welcome Golden Sands Holiday Park, its guests and owners to the Away Resorts family. The park is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional seaside break with plenty of local attractions and we look forward to building on its position as the seaside destination of choice in the region. It’s been a fantastic summer for all our parks, and we can’t wait to meet our new guests and owners at Golden Sands.”
