We understand, however, that sometimes, you might just want to step out of the park and see what else is on offer in the local area. The good news is that there’s tons on offer, and we’ve prepared a few recommendations for you to try out next time you are with us.

Starting with breakfast, snacks, teas and coffees, there’s the Mad Hatter’s Tea Room and Gift Shop, which is on Sea Front (near Funland amusement park). It opens from daily and offers a cosy and relaxed atmosphere (not to mention sea views!). To date it has received more than 80 5-star reviews on Trip Advisor, and is a place popular with both locals and tourists alike.

If you’re on Sea Front around lunchtime or the afternoon and you want something simple, delicious and local, then you’ll have to try Seaview Fish and Chips. The locals adore it, and it has even catered locally, such as the Bowls Club, for groups in need of a quick and delicious meal. Items are cooked fresh every day, and they’re perfect to enjoy on the seaside while gazing out to the beautiful English Channel.

On those nights when you want something a little more exotic or spicy, then the Bay of Bengal Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant is a must. Located on Elm Grove, this good-value restaurant is family-run, offers friendly service and flavoursome dishes made with high-quality ingredients. People flock to the restaurant from miles around, so book ahead if you can.

For this, Jasper’s Restaurant is a good idea, with its decent menu brimming with choice, warm atmosphere and tasty fayre. If you’re travelling with friends and want a nice place to go together, then this is also a great choice. It opens in the evenings on Wednesday to Saturday from 6:30pm to 11pm, but also for lunch on Wednesday to Friday (12 noon to 2.30pm) and Sunday (12 noon to 3pm). After your meal, we recommend you take your coffees and mints into their comfortable lounge. It’s the perfect way to round off the lovely evening.
