Away Resorts, the UK holiday park provider, has partnered with SENNIES, a leading Special Educational Needs (SEN) childcare, training and consultancy agency, to launch a new programme of neuroinclusive activities designed for families holidaying with neurodivergent children.

The partnership reflects growing demand for families seeking holidays that better accommodate children with additional needs, particularly in environments that can often feel overwhelming or unpredictable.

The first phase of the partnership will see six dedicated midweek breaks take place at Tattershall Lakes Country Park, from the 8th June 2026 through to July. Designed for babies, toddlers and children with SEN, the breaks are scheduled during quieter, off-peak periods to help reduce sensory overload, improve accessibility, and create more inclusive environments where all families can enjoy their holiday with confidence.

The activities during the midweek breaks include:

  • Role Play: Magical Kingdom, Dinosaurs and Play Town
  • Potion Making
  • Messy Play
  • Tots Colour Throw
  • Treasure Trail
  • Custard Pie Tots

Away Resorts’ flagship live show, Bear in the Woods, has also been thoughtfully adapted to create a more accessible and comfortable experience for all, including neurodivergent children. Adjustments include revised language, softer lighting, and relaxed performances during selected run times, helping to create a calmer and more predictable environment for families.

Since forging the partnership, SENNIES has delivered specialist SEN childcare training to all of Away Resorts’ experience and activity teams, alongside consultancy support focused on enhancing neuroinclusive environments and making holidays more accessible for all guests.

The training equips staff with practical, real-world skills to better understand and support neurodivergent families, improve communication, and respond confidently within a busy holiday park environment. It also enables teams to implement reasonable adjustments.

To further support families ahead of their stay, Away Resorts has introduced a comprehensive “Know Before You Go” guide, designed to provide clear, practical information to help families plan with confidence. This includes details such as expected noise, wait times, physical or participation requirements, and anything else the guest needs to make an informed decision to take part in the activity.

The guide is also being developed to include visual aids and schedules to help children better understand and prepare for their visit.

Georgia Sargeant, Founder of SENNIES, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be working with Away Resorts to support their teams and strengthen their approach to neuro-inclusion. Holiday environments can be overwhelming for some families, and it’s encouraging to see operators taking meaningful, practical steps to create experiences that are more inclusive, supportive and enjoyable for everyone.”

Lloyd Nandra, Experience Delivery Manager, Away Resorts, said: “Away Resorts is constantly working to deliver truly inclusive events and experiences to our guests. Our work with SENNIES is the latest investment in our programme, and strengthens our approach to supporting neurodivergent guests and their families. The initial training has given our Experience delivery teams greater confidence and practical tools, and the ongoing consultancy is helping us work towards our ‘Discover Different’ mission statement, improving experiences across all of our resorts.

We want every guest to feel welcome, comfortable and able to enjoy their holiday in a way that works for them, and this partnership has allowed us to develop the framework to offer reasonable adjustment to our product offering in a way that is sustainable, and easy to access.”

Away Resorts plans to expand the programme across more of its parks, as part of its ongoing commitment to making UK family holidays more inclusive and accessible.
