2014 Autumn Festivals in Lincolnshire15th October 2014
Autumn is here and already the nights are already starting to draw in. Don’t let that stop you having a great time, however, as there is plenty going on in Lincolnshire through the autumn. Chase away those chilly feelings by coming to one of the many fantastic festivals on around Lincolnshire over the next several weeks. Let’s see what’s on:
Coming up very soon is the Gainsborough Food Festival, which is on October 18th at the Gainsborough Old Hall. You might be thinking, “yeah, I’ve been to a food festival before, I basically know what they’re about.” Well, did you know that, in fact, with the Gainsborough Food Festival you don’t just a wonderful sampling of local delicacies? You also can attend the CAMRA Beer Festival and the Great Gainsborough Bake Off, which are both happening at the same location on the same day! How great is that? The events run from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and would make a fantastic day out for the whole family.
The following Saturday, why not head to historic Lincoln to take part in the 12th annual Lincolnshire Sausage Festival. The county is known the world over for its amazing sausages, and on Saturday, October 25th, you can head to Lincoln Castle to enjoy this absolutely free festival. It runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and features all manner of delicious Lincolnshire sausage, live music and entertainment, and even cooking demonstrations. Last year’s event sold something like 32,000 or more sausages! Can you imagine?! Don’t miss out this year, be there on October 25th.
If you’re in Lincolnshire in late November, why not think about stopping by the Food & Gift Fair at the Lincolnshire Showground, just 2 miles north of Lincoln. It runs on November 29th and 30th, and covers two whole exhibition halls. There will be myriad gifts, handicrafts and unbeatable delicacies from local suppliers. If you have been stuck for gift ideas for Christmas, then this would be an excellent place to start! The fair is open from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Get inspired by great local Lincolnshire cooking and craftsmanship.
