Autumn Festivals in Lincolnshire16th October 2015
Summer has passed, but the family fun will continue into the autumn for Lincolnshire! There are a huge number of great activities and festivals going on around the county, and if you stay with us here at Tattershall Lakes, then you’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy all of them. We’ve prepared a selection of these festivals below to give you some idea of just how much there is to do in the county over the autumn.
South Lincolnshire Walking Festival:
This actually began back in September, but will continue on until October 31st. There are more than 70 walks to choose from, many of which are also “talking walks”, which means you’ll get an experienced local guide who can also introduce the local highlights, heritage and more. Routes across the area will include passing by bronze-age burial sites, Roman forts, castles and more historical spots. Mother Nature’s own beauty is shown in her birds, trees, nature trails and whatnot. Check the organizer’s website for more information.
Autumn Amble @ Lincolnshire Wash Reserves
The RSPB organize special guided tours of their reserves in Lincolnshire for anyone interested in seeing some of the county’s more interesting seasonal wildlife. You can join any of their tours right up to to October 25th. It’s a nice way to enjoy the outdoors at a slower pace! Please note that dogs are not permitted (not even on leads).
Craft & Food Fair @ Burghley Park, Stamford
On October 17th and 18th, you can head to Stamford and see this wonderful fair, which could well provide you a nice early Christmas gift shopping opportunity. There will be local crafts, as well as delicious food to enjoy.
If you’re there for the Craft & Food Fair, why not let the kids have a go at the Pumpkin Trail? It runs from October 17th to November 1st. You follow the trail, solve the puzzles and at the end the kids get a treat! There are also free cookies for any kids that come along in fancy dress!
Frequency Festival of Digital Culture @ Lincoln (across the city)
For those of you with an artistic streak, or if you’re just interested in art, then this is a festival not to be missed. The Frequency Festival of Digital Culture runs from October 23rd to November 1st, and sees contemporary art and digital innovation transform iconic venues and medieval architecture across Lincoln. This festival is part of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta (so it’s good for the history buffs too!)
