Scarecrow, Cider and Sausages…16th August 2013
Tattershall Lakes is hosting a fun, entertaining and exciting event for our lovely holiday guests to take part in on Sunday 25th August. Bringing you a day of laughter why not get involved and build your own scarecrow for the Scarecrow, Cider and Sausages Festival right here on the Lakes!
Back in the days scarecrows were much more than a funny creature that sat in your garden or you made for fun, they were made to duplicate a person or mannequin image to scare away crows or birds who wanted to feed on the newly laid seeds and crops in the open fields. Now days we have the most fantastic and creative selection of Scarecrows made… you could say they have evolved and adapted to the modern era and the generation we live in now.
People have become more and more creative and valiant in making an almost identical replica of a reality star, celebrity, actor and singer. Some have even orchestrated famous groups like the Mr Men characters, a mini Olympics, Disney characters and even the Spongebob Square Pants family.
Now that we have covered the background, it’s time to grab your family and friends and get imaginative over the bank holiday weekend and make, build and construct the best scarecrow ever! This is a great way to bond with the rest of the community on park, let your creative flair flow and get artistic with decorating. The best ones will even receive a prize by our very own Tattershall Lake judges.
To top of your exhilarating day there will also be some refreshing cider and delicious sausages to get your taste buds tingling and your energy levels high. What are you waiting for we suspect it will be a scorching bank holiday weekend! What better way to enjoy your time at the Lakes then in the beautiful outdoors with everyone else as you all chuckle away at your scarecrows.
