Here's the secret every savvy parent eventually discovers: the holiday itself doesn't change when the school bells stop ringing. The pools are just as warm, the lodges just as cosy and the sea just as splashy. What changes is the price tag.
If you're hunting for a cheap holiday in the UK that doesn't feel like a compromise, going off-peak is the smartest move you can make.
Lower prices: Off-peak holidays cost noticeably less than school-holiday stays, so your budget goes further on the same accommodation.
Quieter parks: Fewer crowds mean shorter queues, easier bookings for activities and a more relaxed pace for everyone.
Same great facilities: Pools, play areas, bars, restaurants and spas are all part of the Away Resorts experience, so you're not trading quality for savings.
Attractions still open: Castles, coastlines, museums and forest walks near our parks welcome visitors all year round.
Easy to compare: Use the park-by-park table below to see which Away Resorts park suits your family best.

Holiday parks price their stays according to demand. During school holidays, thousands of families want the same dates, and nightly rates rise to match. Outside those windows, demand eases and so do the prices. That's the heart of the off-peak holiday season: the same stay, the same welcome, but with more money left in your pocket for ice cream, adventure golf and that extra hot chocolate.
The savings add up quickly, too. A weekend or midweek break in term time can cost far less than a week in the summer holidays, which means you could enjoy two or three short breaks across the year for the price of one peak-season trip.
Caravan and lodge holidays already offer brilliant value compared with hotels, and off-peak dates make them better still. Our off-peak caravan holidays let you choose from comfort-grade caravans right through to luxury lodges with hot tubs, often at prices that would be out of reach in the summer holidays.
That means you can often treat the family to a step up in accommodation for the same budget. Always fancied a hot tub lodge? Off-peak is the time to make it happen. When you're searching for the best deals on off-peak caravan holidays, remember that flexibility is your superpower: shifting your dates by even a few days can change the price, so it's worth checking a few options when you search.
A cheap holiday doesn't have to mean a basic one. Here's how families make their money go further at our cheap holiday parks in the UK:
Self-cater when it suits you. Your own kitchen means breakfasts and picnic lunches cost a fraction of eating out, and you can still treat everyone to a meal at an on-park restaurant. At Away Resorts we have several budget friendly meal deals including kids eat for £1.
Go midweek. Monday-to-Friday stays are often better value than weekends.
Keep the fun free. Walks, beach days, wildlife spotting and playground time cost nothing, and our parks are packed with all of them. We also have seasonal free entertainment at our parks and low-cost activities.
Book early. Locking in your dates ahead of time gives you the widest choice of accommodation and the best chance of an early booking offer.
Bring the dog. Every Away Resorts park is dog-friendly, so there's no need to pay for kennels.
Quieter doesn't mean quiet! Our entertainment teams keep the fun going outside the school holidays, with live shows, family activities and themed weekends running throughout the year. Our flagship live show, Bear in the Woods, delights younger guests, and you'll find seasonal events from spring flowers to Halloween fun and festive favourites. Check your park's events page when you book, as programmes and dates vary from park to park.
Every Away Resorts park has its own personality, and every one of them looks pretty special in the quieter months. Here's our guide to what's on each park, how off-peak helps your budget, and the best places to explore nearby.

The best-value dates tend to fall in term time. January to March (outside February half term), April to May (outside Easter and May half term), September once schools return, and the gaps between October and November half terms are all worth a look. Midweek stays within these windows are often the cheapest of all.
British weather is unpredictable, but that's half the fun! Pack layers, waterproofs and wellies, plus a cosy jumper for evening walks. Don't forget swimwear for the indoor pools, board games for rainy evenings and a torch if you fancy some after-dark stargazing. Our parks have indoor facilities, so there's always something to do whatever the forecast.
Start by using the flexible dates option when you search so you can compare prices across a few days. Look at our Latest Offers page for seasonal deals and early booking savings, sign up for our emails to hear about offers first, and consider midweek stays. If your dates are flexible, you'll find the best off-peak breaks for your budget.
Off-peak is also the best time for families who need a calmer holiday. We've partnered with SEN childcare specialists SENNIES to train our experience and activity teams and offer Tots & SEN Friendly midweek breaks at quieter times of year, designed to reduce sensory overload and help every child enjoy their stay. Bear in the Woods, our flagship live show, has also been adapted to be more accessible for neurodivergent children. Check our SEN friendly holidays page for current dates and participating parks.
An off-peak holiday is a stay taken outside the busiest periods, mainly school holidays and bank holiday weekends. Peak season is when demand is highest and prices follow. Off-peak is simply the rest of the year, when parks are quieter and prices are lower. The two aren't about weather or quality, only demand.
While exact dates vary by park and year, typical off-peak windows include:
Term-time weekdays across most of the year
Early season in late winter and early spring
Late season in autumn, particularly September and November
Between half terms, when schools are back and parks are calm
Use the date picker on your chosen park page to see live prices for your dates.
An off-peak holiday is one taken outside school holidays and bank holidays, when demand is lower and prices are cheaper. Term-time breaks, early-season stays and late-season getaways all count.
Most of our parks welcome guests for much of the year, and many facilities, including pools, restaurants and entertainment, stay open. Some outdoor facilities, such as aqua parks, are seasonal and opening times vary by park, so check your park's page before you travel.
Yes. Prices are usually lower outside school holidays because demand is lower. Midweek stays in term time are often the best value of all.
Most major attractions, such as castles, museums, coastal walks and forest trails, stay open outside the summer, though some have shorter hours in winter. It's worth checking opening times before you visit.
Retallack Resort in Cornwall, Sandy Balls in the New Forest, Piperdam in Scotland and Kenwick Park in Lincolnshire all have on-site spas, and off-peak is a great time to book a spa break.
