Festival Island!13th May 2015
The Isle of Wight is world renowned for hosting some of the biggest and best festivals of the summer. Whitecliff Bay can provide the perfect base for you to enjoy all the entertainment that’s on offer this year. Here is a small selection of some of the fantastic events taking place, and that can be enjoyed by the whole family!
The Isle of Wight Festival
Thursday 11th – Sunday 14th June
The first major music event in the UK Summer calendar, the Isle of Wight Festival attracts some of the biggest artists in the world, this year highlights include Fleetwood Mac, Blur and The Prodigy – around 55,000 people are expected to attend, so it should be one great big musical party!
Ventnor Fringe Festival
Tuesday 11th – Sunday 16th August
A unique celebration of the arts, showcasing emerging and established talent, with more than 300 performers from across the world taking part – all helping to transform Ventnor into a wonderland of pop up bars and secret venues!
The Garlic Festival
Saturday 15th – Sunday 16th August
One of the island’s biggest summer shows, providing a fantastic day out for all the family. With a variety of food, music, fun fair rides and an arena packed full of traditional entertainers – this really is a ‘must-do’ weekend – and for those of you wishing to sample some of the delicious garlic delights, how about trying garlic fudge or ice cream?
Thursday 10th – Sunday 13th September
The last major festival date in the IoW calendar, Bestival attracts around 80,000 revellers to this music and dance event where attendees are encouraged to dress up and enjoy the celebrations!
