Whitecliff Bay

Local events on the Isle of Wight

Not only does Whitecliff Bay host some terrific entertainment and activities on park but the local area is always bustling with brilliant local events.

As well as the fantastic local attractions, there’s also a lot of great events happening on the island this year to celebrate 175 years of family adventures! We’ve picked a selection of our favourite festivals, events and shows taking place on the Isle of Wight for 2019.

Isle of Wight Festival

13th– 16th June

The award-winning Isle of Wight Festival is returning this June! This year’s acts include; George Ezra, Madness, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Biffy Clyro, Bastille and many more!

Round the Island Race

21st June

A one-day yacht race around the Isle of Wight. The race regularly attracts over 1,400 boats and 15,000 sailors, making it one of the largest boar races in the world!

Mardi Gras

29th June

The Isle of Wight’s Mardi Gras is a carnival with a fantastic themed parade featuring 800 children, and young people in carnival costumes performing some fantastic choreography along the streets of the Isle of Wight.

Royal IOW County Show

30th June 

A fantastic farming day out for the whole family. Experience the wonderful farming heritage and local produce first hand in a day that combines entertainment, fun and friendly farm animals! Plus, children under 16 go free!

The 1940s Experience

6th – 7th July

A festival celebrating 1940s inspired music, dance and fashion. Get up close and personal to civilian and military vehicles and farmyard machinery, take a ride on the fun fair, watch a Punch & Judy show and try the hairstyles and fashions of the day!

Rhythm Tree Festival

12th – 14thJuly 

A safe, friendly, family orientated festival held in a beautiful farmland. Over the years the festival has showcased a diverse range of music and it’s 10thanniversary is set to do just that!

Island Motor Steam Show

13th-14th July 

See the latest train models from all the major manufactures. Browse around the cars, chat to local motor dealers and sit back on a relaxing steam train ride whilst taking in the beautiful sights of the Isle of Wight.

Panerai British Classic Week

13th – 20th July 

This annual regatta is now into its 18th year and is anticipating a wide entry of yachts from around the globe! An enjoyable event to spectate as well as to participate in.

Isle of Wight Pride Festival

20th – 21st July 

Bring your banners and coloured clothing and celebrate Isle of Wight’s pride festival. The festival is free to attend and last year festival goers were treated to performances from a few famous faces including Gok Wan, Eurovision song contest winner, Conchita and Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist, Danny Beard.
