Here are some of Sandy Balls’s most commonly asked questions. If you feel that none of the below answer your questions please use the search bar or alternatively you can contact us and we will get back to you soon as possible.
In line with government advice, we are required to capture the information of everyone that will be visiting park including private sublets. This is to aid the government Test & Trace service, and for your own safety.

Activities can be booked in advance during peak times on our online system (Sandy Balls, Tattershall Lakes and Whitecliff Bay only).
Please be aware, whilst our facilities are open at reduced capacity due to government restrictions, bookable sessions will subsequently operate on a limited capacity to comply with social distancing measures and therefore, availability is not guaranteed.
If you have booked privately at Tattershall Lakes, Sandy Balls or Whitecliff Bay, you can book activities online below. Please use your pitch number and road name as the booking reference.
The Away Resorts App is for exclusive use of Away Resorts guests only.
If you’re staying in Indulgent or Luxury grades your check-in time will be 3pm. All other grades have a check-in time of 4:30pm. These check-in times are subject to change.
Unfortunately at this time, our facilities are only open to our guests and owners.
Unfortunately at this time, we are unable to allow this to ensure we do not exceed our maximum capacity, as advised by the government.
Swimming sessions are charged at £1 per person, this guarantees a date and time for you to enjoy the pool. Swim sessions must be booked online prior. All sessions are 1-hour. You will have a 15-minute grace period to arrive for your session before it is made available to other guests. We politely request that you arrive at the pool ‘swim-ready’ however changing room facilities will be available. Our toilets and showers within the facility will also be open. Social distancing must continue to be adhered to in and around the pool.
When booking alpaca walks, it is a maximum of four people per alpaca, this does not include babies in arms. The minimum age for this activity is 14 years if attending without an adult.
You do not have to book your activities before you arrive however we do strongly advise this as we are running all activities with a limited capacity, in accordance to government advice.
Activities can be booked online or on park at the Forest Hub, however we do highly recommend booking all activities online for your stay in advance to avoid disappointment.
We are requesting that all payments on park at this current time are contactless.

|Aubrey's Forest Kitchen||✔||We are open, but as with everything at the moment, we’ve had to introduce some changes to ensure everyone’s safety. We do request booking where possible, due to limited capacity and high demand we cannot guarantee tables without a booking. Bookings can be made online or through our app. A £5 per person deposit will be taken at time of booking, which is non-refundable, and will be redeemed from your final bill. Bookings will be held for 15 minutes from your reservation time, after which we will release your table for another guest. Each booking will be allocated a two-hour slot and we may ask you to vacate your table after the allotted time if required. Walk-ins will be accepted however cannot be guaranteed. If you have a booking, and there is a queue, please make your way to the front with your booking confirmation at the ready. At this time, we can only offer table service; so, once you’re seated, sit back, relax and we'll come to you! For your own safety, please ensure there are no more than 2 households (maximum of 6 people) per table at any one time and social distancing guidelines are being adhered to at all times.|
Delivery & Takeaway Service
|✔||Takeaway and delivery option available so you can enjoy a pizza and a beer from your holiday home. Menu can be found online or in your welcome pack. Should you wish to order, please call us on 01425 651 215 and we will reserve your time slot - payment will be taken over the phone so please have your payment card ready.
If you are collecting your takeaway, we ask that you are wearing a mask whilst within the restaurant, in accordance to government guidance.
|Indoor Swimming Pool||✔||Our lovely indoor swimming pool is open everyday from 10am - 7pm. Due to reduced capacity in the pool and high demand, we advise pre-booking your swim sessions. All swim sessions are 1-hour. You will have a 15-minute grace period to arrive for your session before it will be made available to other guests. We politely request that you arrive at the pool 'swim-ready' however changing room facilities will be available. Our toilets and showers within the facility will also be open. Social distancing must continue to be adhered to in and around the pool.|
|Gym||✔||Our newly refurbished gym is now open, everyday from 8am - 7pm. Sessions are one-hour long and bookable via the website, our app or Sportsbooker - booking is advised to ensure access can be guaranteed. We ask that you arrive 'gym-ready' as changing room access is limited. Social distancing must continue to be adhered to at all times. Unfortunately we will not be opening this facility for day visitors or providing day passes at this time.|

|The Retreat Spa||✔||We are open everyday from 10am to 4pm and will be operating by appointment only. Appointments are to made via email, [email protected] Treatments currently available are all manicures and pedicures, lower body waxing (bikini, half leg and full leg) and our tanning services. Protective screens will be in place where required, our team will be in full PPE and we ask that you are wearing a mask at all times, in accordance to government guidance.|
|Woodside Suite & Entertainment||✔||The Woodside Suite will be hosting entertainment every evening from 6pm. As you'd expect, it will be a little different at the moment but we'll be bringing you live shows streamed from another location, kids entertainment and music, all displayed on the big screen. We will also be hosting character photo spots for the kids to meet Bear, Scratch and Lucy (from a distance of course). Keep a lookout for our surprise street theatre making an appearance round park, too!|
|Cycle Hire Centre||✔||Our bike hire is open! At this current time, we do ask you to book online and then head to The Forest Hub (open daily from 10am to 5pm) where your bike(s) will be ready and waiting for you at your selected time. We ask that you are wearing a mask when collecting your bikes, in accordance to government guidance. All bikes are cleaned in between hire and our team will be wearing correct levels of PPE.|
|Outdoor Cinema||✔||Grab your coats and join us in the Woodside Courtyard for our outdoor cinema! Film showings and timings can be found on your entertainment guide within your welcome pack. For your own safety, please ensure there are no more than 2 households and a maximum of 6 people together at any one time and social distancing guidelines are being adhered to at all times.|
|Village Shop||✔||Our on-site shop remains open, everyday from 8am to 6pm, for you to be able to get hold of all your everday essentials. As with other shops at the moment, there are precautions in place and we ask you to adhere to these to ensure the safety of yourselves, other holidaymakers, owners and the park team. You will notice a few measures in place which we're sure you are now used to; queue management system, sanitisation station at entrance, limited capacity, social distancing markers on the floor, sneeze screens at tills, contact-less payments only. As per government guidance, we will be asking that all customers in our shop wear a face covering whilst in the shop.|
|Activities & PLAY||✔||Great news! Our team have been trained in delivering the following activities in a way where we can remain covid-safe! This does involve a reduced capacity and we ask that at least 1m distance is kept between family groups at all times. Also we can only allow one parent/guardian with each paying guest and they must remain present for the duration of the actvitiy. Please note, that these are subject to weather conditions and team members having the correct levels of PPE to run the activities. Here is what we have available:
Tie-Dye Madness - The nostalgia is making a comeback! Choose up to three colours and we'll talk you through designs for your t-shirt. One item per ticket.
Pottery Painting - The classic crafty souvenier, available in a variety of designs. One item per ticket.
Slime Workshop - The craze sweeping the nation, use some basic science to make slime!
Superhero Academy - Get your very own superhero name, sidekick and pose at the ready and design your own superhero comic!
Fairy Academy - Get your fairy name, design your own wings and spread some fairy magic!
Drive-in Cinema Cars - Create your own mini car to 'drive-in' to our outdoor cinema later that evening.
Nature Rangers - Safely explore our forest location and gain some ranger knowledge!
All PLAY activities must be pre-booked via Sportsbooker, online or via our app. All activity spaces are for one person and one adult must remain present for the duration of the activity.
|Adventure Playground||✔||Our adventure playgroud is open for you and your family to enjoy. No booking is required however for your own safety, please ensure you are following government advice around social distancing at all times.|
|Arcade||✔||Our arcade is open everyday from 10am to 8pm. For your own safety and for the safety of others around you, please use our sanitisaing stations, continue to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face covering at all times within the arcade.|
|Guest Services||✔||Our opening times are 9am - 6pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Saturday and Sunday and 9am - 8pm on Monday and Friday. At this current time, if you need to speak with a member of the team whilst you're on park, please call us rather than heading to Guest Services. Your team can be contacted on 01425 651 225. If you do need to pop into Guest Services to see us, then please ensure you are wearing a mask whilst inside, as per government advice.|
|Holiday Home Sales||✔||We are open as usual, everyday from 9am - 8pm.|
|Indoor Soft Play||❌||Following recent government guidance, we have taken the decision to close our indoor soft play area.|
|Outdoor Swimming Pool||❌||Our outdoor swimming pool is now closed for the remainder of the season. We look forward to re-opening in 2021.|
We’re able to offer pet friendly units to guests wishing to bring their dogs, and charge from £30 per short break (5 nights and under) and £50 per long break (6 nights or more), per dog. You are also welcome to bring your dog touring & camping, £2 per dog, per night at Tattershall Lakes and Whitecliff Bay.
Up to a maximum of two dogs are allowed per accommodation unit or per caravan and camping pitch. You can find out more about our dog friendly holidays by clicking the link.
The soft play area is suitable Under 6’s.
Yes, for the latest selection of children’s food available please visit your preferred parks’ Food and Drink page.
Yes you can hire a highchair for £12 during your online booking.
Yes you can hire a travel cot for £15 and add it to your online booking. Please note cot linen is not provided as most parents prefer to bring their own.
This will depend on the accommodation but caravans can usually only fit travel cots in the lounge area. Lodges can fit travel cots in the double bedroom but can be very tight though they can be placed in the twin bedroom but a bed will have to be removed. Please call 0330 053 7000 to find out more about fitting a travel cot in your accommodation type and arranging them to be fitted.
Pitching a gazebo, pup tents, an awning with annex or sleeping in awnings is not allowed at Sandy Balls.
All lodges, caravans and camping pods at Sandy Balls have BBQ stands provided. You can bring your own BBQ or disposable BBQ’s are available to purchase from the Village Store. We do ask you not to place them directly onto the ground, decking or picnic benches. Please dispose of them responsibly. Safari tents have a Gas BBQ.
Yes, we have picnic benches situated throughout the site. Lodges and caravans will also have seating allocated outside the property.
The number of adults and children in a lodge cannot exceed the number stated. A baby in a travel cot is also not acceptable if it’s over the maximum stated. For example, if you have 6 people already staying, even a baby would count as an extra person. Due to health and safety regulations, this is not allowed.
Yes, a parking space is provided for one car next to each pitch /accommodation unit. Guests with more than one vehicle will incur a charge and may be required to park second vehicles elsewhere on site at our direction.

Yes our caravans and lodges are supplied with bed linen.
We have a large Gym available on site. Guests must be 16 years of age to use this facility.
Yes, Sandy Balls has 1/3 mile of the beautiful river Avon, a challenging stretch of water with a variety of swims. Fishing tackle and bait can be purchased from the Cycle Centre. Closed season 15 March to 15 June.
We prefer guests not to bring commercial vehicles (vans, mini-vans etc) to Sandy Balls. Those guests who insist on using such vehicles will be required to park them away from pitches/accommodation areas at our direction.
Yes, we have several bike rack areas situated across the site for your convenience.
Yes, we are happy to book tables for parties of 10 or more guests, subject to availability. A restricted number of tables are available each day. Please call 01425 651213 to enquire and book. We do not take reservations in the Woodside Inn.
We have a limited number of bands allocated on a first come, first served basis for each bookable session but these cannot be guaranteed.
Sandy Balls is limited to the number of guests that can use the indoor pool at one time for health and safety reasons. This means at peak times (some school holidays and bank holidays) guests may have to pre-book a one hour swimming session online before they arrive for their holiday.
There are a limited number of bands allocated on a first come, first served basis for each bookable session but these cannot be guaranteed. The swimming system varies throughout the year but information will be emailed prior to your stay with any details if booking is required.
Yes, we have three launderettes available across the site containing washing and drying machines. The charge is £3.50- £3.75 per use.
Yes, we have bikes, tandems and tag-along available to hire for you to explore the forest routes and trails.
Yes, please ensure you know your lodge or pitch number when you place your order.
Wi-fi access is available in the main Village Square.
We can offer guests staying on park ice blocks for a 35p charge and a £1.50 deposit at the Sandyballs shop.
If you would like to swap them for frozen blocks again this will be a further 35p charge per block.
Your deposit is returned when the blocks are.
We’re excited to announce that Sandy Balls, Tattershall Lakes & Whitecliff Bay is still be able to offer activities and entertainment – with a few added precautions of course.
Instead of live performances, The Woodside Suite will be hosting live shows streamed from another location, kids entertainment and music. Not to mention our Outdoor Cinema showing will be running two showings a week too!
Our team have also been trained in hosting activities in a way where we can remain covid-safe and still have plenty of fun – with favourites returning such as target archery, crazy carts and more!
Along with your accommodation, Guest Passes are all included in the break’s price and provides everyone in your party full use of our on-park facilities and evening entertainment (where available)! Certain activities and services may also carry additional charges. Please note, at this time we cannot guarantee access to all facilities even with passes due to social distancing and safety assurances.
